Code of Ethics
As a member of the Aircraft Brokers Association International,
- I have an obligation and responsibility to adhere to the Association's Code of Ethics in the transaction of all aircraft brokering activities.
- I will accurately represent my credentials, experience, and brokering abilities to potential buyers and sellers of aircraft.
- I will utilize the most current, accurate, and relevant market information available when conducting a market analysis of a client's aircraft.
- I will not intentionally misrepresent the market value of an aircraft for which I am negotiating an exclusive listing.
- I will represent an aircraft with the most accurate information in regard to condition, specifications, and performance, and I will refrain from intentionally exaggerating, misrepresenting, or concealing pertinent facts related to the transaction.
- I will present all legitimate offers and counter offers as soon as possible. Furthermore, I will take the utmost care to insure that all documents associated with the transaction are kept current through the use of written extensions and/or amendments.
- I understand that time is of the essence to complete a sales transaction once an offer has been accepted, and I will do all that I can do to assure a timely completion. Once an offer has been accepted, I will notify all other prospective buyers that a sale is pending on the aircraft.
- I will divulge any conflict of interest, real or perceived, with regard to any sales transaction. A conflict of interest exists any time a broker has a personal or financial interest in the aircraft being bought or sold.
- I will not accept payment from another party when acting as an exclusive broker for a buyer or seller, without the full knowledge of the principal(s) to the transaction.
- I will only compensate employees of the parties to a transaction with written consent of the respective employer.
- I will fully disclose all costs and charges associated with any transaction and recommend the use of an escrow account when appropriate.
- I will comply with applicable state and federal consumer protection laws and/or regulations concerning the sale of aircraft.
- I will provide a level of competent service inline with the aircraft brokerage industry and ABAI's high standards of business and professionalism.
